Unemployment is a small labour-market desk. A Younivi publication from New Zealand. There is no research floor, no sales desk and no invented masthead of analysts.
The product is narrow on purpose. The all-countries pages show one World Bank (or IMF) series at a time: the ILO modelled unemployment rate, youth unemployment, female and male rates, labour-force participation, and the employment-to-population ratio. Each page has a filterable chart, a ranked table, a short explanation, and a citation.
Country desks at /us/, /uk/, /ca/, /au/, /de/, /fr/, /it/, /ea/, /ie/, /kr/, /tw/, /nz/ — plus noindex /sg/ and /za/ — use the same figures. They only turn the menu toward that reader and show a related-country subset. They do not invent a national labour-force survey we have not ingested.
Source and method. The headline series come from World Bank Open Data and are used under CC BY 4.0. Five of the six indicators are ILO modelled estimates: SL.UEM.TOTL.ZS, SL.UEM.1524.ZS, SL.UEM.TOTL.FE.ZS, SL.UEM.TOTL.MA.ZS, SL.TLF.CACT.ZS and SL.EMP.TOTL.SP.ZS. ‘Modelled’ means the ILO assembles a comparable series from national surveys, censuses and administrative records rather than republishing one country’s own survey. Taiwan’s headline unemployment rate is the one series the World Bank does not publish here; it comes from the IMF World Economic Outlook via the IMF DataMapper, under IMF copyright. Sourcing model. We republish official figures instead of commissioning our own estimates. Each page names its indicator and links the producer, and each source’s licence is printed at the foot of the article. We do not resell the data or present a producer’s figure as our own. Where a source does not publish an economy, that economy is omitted; no gap is filled with an estimate or an older value.
Editorial model. There is no investment recommendation here, no ranking of economies as better or worse places to live or work, and no advisory service. The pages describe and compare published numbers. An economy appears because the sources publish it, not because Younivi endorses its policy.
Corrections and independence. When a value or citation is wrong we fix the build and regenerate the site. We do not silently edit a printed number; a correction comes from the source file or from a corrected reading of it. The site carries advertising through Google AdSense, and advertising has no role in which series we publish or how we describe them. Advertisers cannot influence a page, and we do not accept payment to include or exclude an economy.
Younivi publishes this as an information project. It is not a bank and not a financial-advice provider. Nothing on the site is a recommendation.
